This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate engineer to join us as a Technical Support Engineer - Building Automation in Melbourne to join Conserve It in Melbourne. Reporting directly to Head of Applications and Deployment, you will be working with our products and technologies team.


The key element of this role is to be part of Conserve It’s products and technologies team and provide product, applications and deployment support for company’s range of products and applications to system integrators, OEMs and end-customers along with internal team with particular emphasis on building automation, edge IoT, chiller plant optimisation, analytics and energy efficiency solutions.

As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be main point of contact for all technical support queries from all Conserve It customers worldwide. It is expected that through formal training and self-learning you will acquire an in-depth knowledge of Conserve It’s entire suite of products and solutions and be able to attend to and resolve all queries in a timely manner.


Key Responsibilities:

  • You will primarily be responsible for providing technical support for Conserve It distributed and developed products and applications from building automation, edge IoT, chiller plant optimisation, analytics and energy efficiency solution portfolio and troubleshooting remote systems by liaising with customers to resolve problems on site.

  • You will be supporting the internal software development team by designing and executing test cases to ensure implemented functionality meets specifications.

  • You will also be supporting the sales team with technical product and application selection and design.

  • Occasionally, you will assist the team with wiring and testing of low-voltage controllers.

  • You will help the team with conducting basic, extensive and stress tests for products and applications.

  • You will furthermore be involved with the pre-engineering, application design and deployment of Control Solutions including Conserve It’s flagship solution, PlantPRO. Hours: Full Time Location: Melbourne CBD


Essential skills and experience

  • You have had prior experience in a technical support in the building automation industry preferable.

  • You have a degree qualification in electrical / electronic engineering with controls and automation focus.

  • You are proficient in creating and editing Electrical drawings using AutoCAD and VISIO. Knowledge of Solidworks will be looked at favourably.

  • You are familiar with the programming for Electronic DDC control systems using Functional Block Diagrams.

  • You have prior knowledge of instrumentation sensors and field communication protocols, e.g Modbus, BACnet etc.

  • You have the ability to understand and modify electrical diagrams and drawings.

  • You are familiar with TCP/IP Networking and protocols.

  • You are able to take initiative and work independently but are also able to work in a team.

  • You have good work ethics and have a can-do attitude.

  • You have a good grasp of the English language and can converse and write fluently.

  • You have a valid Australian Driving license.

  • You are available to travel domestically and internationally when required.

  • You are allowed to work full-time in Australia. Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is preferred.

  • You are inclined to learn and adopt new technologies.
